Account and billing

Manage your plan and billing

Choose your plan, upgrade or downgrade, and apply a promo code.

Before you start

  • You need to be an account owner or admin.
  • The three plans are Free, Pro, and Portfolio. Your plan is set by four counts: properties, doors, team members, and owner logins. Pro unlocks the value layer: bank payments (PAD), automated reminders, analytics, the T776 tax pack, accounting export, AI Assist, market benchmarks, and the wealth features. Portfolio adds unlimited properties, doors and seats, bulk messaging, and the public API. Compare them on the pricing page.

What counts toward your plan

  • A door is a rentable unit. A six-unit building is six doors, even though it is one property, and a single house you rent out is one door. Free includes 2 properties and 2 doors, Pro includes 20 of each, and Portfolio is unlimited.
  • A property you are not renting out, such as your own home, cannot hold units, so it never counts as a door. Tracking your residence and your net worth is not affected by the door limit.
  • A team member is a manager who signs in and does work. Free includes 1, which is you.
  • An owner login is a read-only investor or co-owner who can see their own statements. They have their own allowance, so inviting a co-owner does not use up a manager seat. Free includes 2 owner logins, Pro includes 5, and Portfolio is unlimited.
  • Tenants never count toward any limit, on any plan.

What stops counting

  • An archived property does not count, and neither do the doors inside it. Archiving is the way through when you have reached a limit and nothing here is safe to delete.
  • A property or a unit you have recorded as sold does not count. Its records are kept for your books either way.
  • A team invitation that has expired does not count. An invite lasts 14 days and cannot be used after that, so it releases its seat. Your team page shows it as Expired. Resend it to send a fresh link, which takes the seat back.
  • A pending, unexpired invitation does count, because it is one accept away from being a member.

Steps

  1. Open Billing from the menu.
  2. Review your current plan and what it includes.
  3. Enter a promo code first if you have one, so the discount is applied to the payment.
  4. Upgrade or downgrade to another plan.

What happens next

  • Choosing a paid plan opens secure checkout, where you enter your card. Your plan changes once the payment goes through. A promo code is applied to that payment, so you pay the discounted price.
  • If you already pay for a plan, switching plans updates your existing subscription and prorates the difference, so you are never billed twice. Where annual billing is offered, the same applies to switching between monthly and annual. If you do not see an annual option, plans are billed monthly.
  • Choosing Free takes effect right away if you have no paid plan. If you do, it cancels at the end of your billing period and you keep your current plan until then.
  • Upgrading unlocks gated features and raises all four limits. Downgrading re-locks features above your new plan.
  • The billing page shows each of the four counts with how many you are using, so you can see a limit before you reach it.
  • A page you cannot use on your plan shows a friendly upgrade screen, which names the feature, the plan that unlocks it, and the price, rather than an error.
  • An applied promo code is shown under your current plan on this page.

Troubleshooting

  • Your promo code was refused at checkout. The message names the reason, for example the code has expired or has already been used. Your card is not charged when a code is refused.
  • You closed checkout without paying. Nothing changed, and your promo code was not used up. You can start again.
  • A feature is locked after upgrading. Features follow your active plan, so confirm the new plan is in effect on the billing page.
  • You cannot downgrade. You may be over the lower plan's limit on any of the four counts, including team members and owner logins. The message says which one binds and how many to shed. Nothing is deleted, and you keep your current plan until it fits.
  • You archived a property and the limit did not move. It does now. If a figure still looks stale, reload the billing page, which reads the counts live.
  • "You have reached your plan's door limit" when adding a unit. Your plan includes a set number of rentable units. Everything you already have keeps working, including rent and payments. To add another door, move up a plan, archive a property you no longer rent out, or record the sale of a unit you have sold.
  • Adding the first unit to a condo or house did not use another door. That is deliberate. A single-dwelling property is created with one hidden unit so a lease has something to attach to, and the first real unit you add takes its place rather than sitting beside it.
  • You are already over a limit. Nothing stops working. You can still collect rent, message tenants, edit records and export your data. Only adding another one is refused.
  • "Your plan does not include this feature." That feature is on a higher plan. The message names the minimum plan you need.
  • You are genuinely over a limit and cannot shed anything. Contact support. Wealthru can hold a named account above a specific limit, permanently or until a date, so nobody is ever locked out of their own data.
