Read the messages about the properties you own

See the conversations with the tenants and applicants at the properties you own, without having to ask your property manager for an update.

Where to find it

Open Messages from the menu, or tap the Messages tab at the bottom of the screen on a phone.

Each row is one contact. Tap a row to read the whole thread, newest message last.

What you will see

• Messages sent to the contact by the management team, and replies from the contact, whether they came in by email, text message or the tenant portal.
• Automatic messages the contact received, such as a rent reminder or a receipt. These carry a small label so you can tell them apart from something a person typed.

What you will not see, and why

Notes the management team wrote for themselves. Staff can attach private notes to a thread. Those are working notes, not correspondence, and they are never shown to you or to the tenant.

Who on the team wrote a message. A thread reads as being with the management company rather than with a named employee, which is the same way the tenant sees it.

Conversations with contractors and suppliers. A supplier conversation covers all of the properties that company works on, including buildings you do not own, so it cannot be shown to one owner. Ask your property manager for anything you need about a supplier.

Anything about a property you do not own. You see the properties on your own ownership record and nothing else, even when another owner's property sits in the same account.

Can I reply?

Not yet. This page is read-only for now. Replying means sending a message on behalf of the management company, and Canada's anti-spam law puts the responsibility for consent on whoever sends it, so that needs to be set up properly before it is switched on. Contact your property manager in the meantime.

If the page is empty

An empty page means one of two things: nothing has been said yet about the properties you own, or your ownership record has not been set up. Your property manager can check the second one.
