Give proper notice before entering a unit

# Give proper notice before entering a unit

Most provinces require a landlord to give advance written notice before entering an occupied unit for a non-emergency visit. In many provinces the minimum is 24 hours. Wealthru helps you give that notice and keeps the record.

The notice happens when you book the visit

When you schedule a maintenance visit on a unit with an active tenancy, Wealthru records a notice of entry against that tenancy and emails every tenant on it. The email names the date, the time and the reason. You do not send anything separately, booking the visit is giving the notice.

The tenant's conversation thread shows an "Entry notice" entry, and the account log at Messages, All messages lists it too. That entry is your proof the notice was sent and when.

The warning as you pick the time

As you pick the visit time, the schedule control tells you how the notice stands against your province's minimum. The sentence names the figure and how far away the visit is. If the visit is inside the minimum, the sentence shows as a warning.

The warning never blocks the booking. Emergencies, a tenant's own request, or consent at the door are all real reasons an entry can be sooner, and Wealthru records what you decided rather than deciding for you.

About the figure itself

A figure marked PREVIEW has not been reviewed by a lawyer yet. Wealthru ships careful placeholder values, but they are tooling, not legal advice. Verify the entry notice rules with your provincial tenancy authority.

A platform admin can set and confirm the figure per province from the Admin console, in the Province tenancy rules table. Saving a province's row records the review and removes the PREVIEW mark from that figure.

Building-wide announcements

For a visit that affects a whole building, like a fire inspection or window cleaning, use the property broadcast instead. Open the property and choose Notify residents, then pick the Inspection or entry category. Every resident gets the announcement in their thread.
