For property managers
Send a drafted reply to a tenant
When a tenant texts or emails you, Wealthru can write a suggested reply and put it in your approval queue. Nothing is ever sent on its own. You read it, change whatever you want, then press Send.
Before you start
- This is on the Pro plan, and it has to be turned on for your account. Ask us to switch it on.
- It only drafts replies to tenants, not to vendors or applicants.
- A draft usually appears within a few minutes of the tenant's message, not instantly.
Steps
- Open Approvals from the menu. Drafted replies sit at the top, under Replies to send.
- Read what the tenant wrote. It is shown above the reply so you have the whole ask in one place.
- Edit the reply in the box. Whatever you leave there is exactly what gets sent.
- Press Send to send it, or Reject to throw the draft away.
What happens next
- Send delivers the reply on the same channel the tenant used, text or email, and adds it to their thread under Messages like any other reply you write yourself.
- Reject sends nothing and changes nothing. The tenant's message stays in your inbox.
- Either way the draft leaves the queue.
Good to know
- The reply never mentions that it was drafted for you. It goes out as you.
- It will not quote a figure it was not given. If a tenant asks something Wealthru cannot answer from your records, the draft says you will check and come back to them.
- Some messages get a short holding reply on purpose. If the tenant raises a notice, eviction, a deposit, a rent increase or their rights, the draft only says you will look into it, and the card is marked This one needs you. Those are decisions for a person, not a suggested reply.
- It never promises a repair date. If you want to commit to one, type it in yourself.
- Your teammates set as operators cannot send these, the same as money sign-off. They can still reply directly from Messages.
Troubleshooting
- No drafts are showing. Check the tenant actually wrote in, and that the message arrived under Messages. If the thread is empty, the reply never reached Wealthru and there is nothing to draft from.
- A draft is there but Send does nothing. You may be set as an operator on this account. Ask the account owner, or reply from the tenant's thread under Messages instead.
- The reply looks generic. That is the fallback wording Wealthru uses when it cannot reach the writing service. It is safe to send, and you can rewrite it before you do.
