For tenants

Attach documents to your rental application

How this works

You (landlord or manager)Outside serviceTenantWealtharu
  1. Email a prospect the apply link

  2. Invite email with the tokened apply URL

    via Email provider
  3. Submit application

  4. Upload ID / income proof

    via Object storage
  5. Application created

    Done automatically
  6. Notify the account's staff with a link to the application

After you send your application, the landlord usually needs a few documents from you. You can attach them right away, and you can come back and add more later from the link in your confirmation email. No account needed either way.

One-line goal

Get your ID, proof of income, and references attached to your application.

Before you start

  • Have the files on the device you applied from. A photo taken with your phone is fine.
  • Each file must be a PDF or a photo, up to 15 MB.
  • You do not need an account. The attach step is on the page you land on after you send the application, and on your tracking page, which is what the link in your confirmation email opens.

Steps

  1. Send your application first. The attach step appears under "Application received" once your application has gone through. It is also on your tracking page, so you can come back to it later from the link we email you.
  2. Choose what you are adding. Tap Add Government ID, Add Proof of income, Add Reference, or Add Other. The label you pick is what the landlord sees next to the file, so pick the closest one.
  3. Pick the file or take a photo. Your phone offers its camera and its files. Either works.
  4. Wait for the checkmark. The button says "Uploading…" while the file goes up, then the file name appears in a list with a checkmark. That means the landlord has it.
  5. Repeat for each document. Add a government ID for every adult who applied, plus proof of income and any references.

What happens next

  • The landlord sees your files on your application, labelled with the type you chose.
  • You can keep attaching files while the application is still open. Once a decision is made, the attach step closes.
  • To check where your application stands, use the status link on the same page. See What happens after you apply.

Troubleshooting

  • "We could not attach that file. Use a PDF or photo under 15 MB, then try again." The file is either too big or not a type we accept. Photos taken on a recent phone are sometimes over 15 MB, so try a smaller version or a screenshot of the document.
  • "We could not attach that file. Check your connection, then try again." The upload did not finish. Tap Try again under the message. It reuses the file you already picked, so you do not have to find it a second time. If you are on a weak signal, moving to Wi-Fi usually fixes it.
  • The file is not in the list. If a file is not showing with a checkmark, it did not attach and the landlord does not have it. Add it again.
  • I closed the page before attaching. Open the link in your confirmation email. It takes you to your tracking page, where the attach step is waiting. The same link works if you saved your application and finished later, so any link we sent you gets you back in. If you cannot find the email, check your spam folder, then ask the landlord to resend it.
  • I do not want to send an ID. That is your call. Ask the landlord what they need and why. Wealtharu is the tool the landlord uses, it does not decide what they ask for.
